Experimental conditions were varied to study their effect on the accuracy and reproducibility of heat capacity measurements made with a high-temperature differential scanning calorimeter. Use of a higher heating rate, a calibration standard of similar size and mass of the sample, and a larger sample mass can give much more accurate and reproducible heat capacity measurements.
