摘要

The Pacific bluefin tuna, Thunnus orientalis belonging to the family Scombridae, is one of the most famous and expensive species all over the world. Technical developments of seed production in this fish species has been conducted since 1970. Recent technical developments have remarkably progressed in seed production, full-life cycle aquaculture of the Pacific bluefin tuna has been completed in 2002 in Japan. In this paper, present status and future prospects are introduced for aquaculture in the Pacific bluefin tuna.
