Application of integrated controller 'MICREX-SX' to steel-making equipment

There have been strong demands for improvement in product quality, advanced functions and high value added such as stable operation and labor reduction. Control functions to satisfy these requirements were formerly realized with exclusive-use programmable logic controllers (PLCs). This paper gives an example of general-purpose PLC MICREX-SX series application to the classifier equipment of a shear line, one of steel-making process lines, instead of the former exclusive-use PLC. In addition, it describes difference in the system structuring method between the former and the new.
