The breast augmentation might be connected somehow to deep-rooted desire in mind with an expectation. However this is not an easy issue to deal with as its history shows. In the process of discovering the better methods for breast enhancement including implants, the silicone gel-filled prosthesis was developed in 1963 and has been in practical use up until now which is still being progressing. However it has yet to achieve the perfect results with much satisfaction. On the other hand, plastic surgery has a history of replacing implants such as prosthesis. and epithesis with several types of autologous tissue transplantation. In the 1950's, various types of autologous tissue grafting were experimented to enhance breast but each method turned out to be unsatisfactory results. Thereafter the lipo-injection method was adopted and is now on the way to expanding its indication with the gradual modification of the method. At the same time, however, it is also pointed out that the calcified substances caused by the injected fat makes it troublesome to distinguish them from breast cancer. In this article described is some discussion of augmentation mammaplasty by lipo-injection in light of the rough history of breast augmentation.
