Conversational ellipsis and its complement

In conversation we omit common knowledge and utter only the suitable information in order to communicate rapidly. We omit unconsciously, even when conversing with machines. Also, we feel troublesome if ellipsis isn't admitted. When people utter with ellipsis, machines have to complement the ellipsis to understand its context. In this paper, we propose the method to complement the ellipsis in two sets of utterance pairs of a question and answer. First, we classify the two sets of utterance pairs into 5 types, depending on whether ellipsis occurs or not. Next, we explain the method of the complement by the use of the rules and the dictionary associated with predicate.
