Optimized half-bridge inverter for electroluminescent lamp

The low output harmonics, low switch stress current and low switching loss half-bridge inverter for electroluminescent (EL) lamp is presented and experimented. This inverter is based on half bridge inverter and controlled by a simple hysteresis current control circuit. The inverter operation optimize with output harmonics, switch stress current and switching loss by adjusting the hysteresis band and reference signal of the controller. The experimental results show the lower switch stress current and harmonics spectrum of output voltage and current compare with the conventional type.
