Sandvik 13C26 is martensitic stainless strip steel that has very good wear resistance. Hardening temperature is 1060 deg C (1940 deg F), with a holding time of 3 min, and quenching in oil. Tempering. For strip thickness 1.0 mm (0.039 in.) the tempering time is 30 min. See Fig. 1. Brittleness occurs with tempering above 450 deg C (840 deg F). Sandvik 13C26 is a martensitic stainless chromium steel. After heat treatment, the grade is characterized by high hardness, good corrosion resistance, and very good wear resistance.
