Sandvik 7C27Mo2 is martensitic stainless strip steel that also contains molybdenum for corrosion resistance. Hardening temperature is 1030 deg C (1885 deg F), with a holding time 6 min. Quench in oil. Tempering. For strip thickness 3.5 mm (0.138 in.), tempering time is 30 min. See Fig. 1. Brittleness occurs with tempering above 450 deg C (840 deg F). Sandvik 7C27Mo2 is martensitic stainless chromium steel alloyed with molybdenum. The grade is characterized by the soft delivery condition and good formability. After heat treatment the grade has very good corrosion resistance, high toughness, and excellent fatigue strength properties.
