Application of a new botanical ingredient 'Coleus extract' to hair growth products

There are a great number of ingredients originated from plants for hair growth products. Recently, a variety of novel ingredients have been developed following by significnt findings in mechanisms of hair growth, hair cycle, and male pattern baldness. We have developed a novel ingredient for hair growth products named 'Coleus extract' originated from Coleus forskohlii, distributed in India. Further work showed that administrated forskolin, one of main components in Coleus forskohlii activated the growth of hair follicle cells and stimulated melanogenesis in vitro, and accelerated hair growth on rabbit. These findings exhibit that forskolin can be expected to apply for hair growth products.
