摘要

Imidazolium type room temperature molten salt, either itself or mixture with lithium salt, was evaluated as electrolyte for a lithium ion battery, and found to have a higher ionic conductivity and better thermal stability than normal organic electrolyte. Since their reduction potential is higher than that of lithium, a Li{sub}4Ti{sub}5O{sub}12/LiBF{sub}4-EMIBF{sub}4/LiCoO{sub}2 cell was used to evaluate their cell performance. The cell showed good initial discharge performance as well as good cycle life.
