OBJECTIVE: To demonstrate the value of optimizing non-contrast head imaging tasks by using the multiple virtual monochromatic spectral imaging (VMSI) sets in dual-energy spectral computed tomography (CT) and determine the optimal energy levels for various tasks in imaging head.
