Interaction of cubic boron nitride with aluminum in the presence of carbon

摘要

Our results lend support to the view that the presence of carbon in high-pressure reaction sintering of cBN with Al affects the phase composition and the crystal lattice constants of the interaction products. It has been concluded that carbon is transferred through the aluminum melt with its subsequent heterodiffusion into the cBN crystal lattice.
