Medical, Psychosocial, and Vocational Aspects of Multiple Sclerosis: Implications for Rehabilitation Professionals

This article provides an overview of the medical, psychosocial, and vocational aspects of multiple sclerosis (MS), one of the most common neurological disorders in the world. New developments in the diagnosis and treatment of this increasingly prevalent disease are presented. We review recent research on the impact of MS on health and function, and on the effect of MS on employment and community participation. Finally, we describe the important considerations for rehabilitation professionals working with people who have MS and their families.
