Empirical Bioethics: Present and Future Possibilities

In this brief commentary, I have two objectives in responding to Alexander Kon's (2009) target article: 1) to consider, as an empirical bioethics researcher, whether the proposed four categories fit my own sense of how empirical research has progressed in my work, and 2) to offer an assessment of whether Kon's hope of how empirical research might inform our ethical ideals is adequate.
