Coexistence of dermatosis neglecta, facial seborrheic dermatitis, and corticosteroid-dependent dermatitis in a 21-year-old woman.

The term dermatosis (or dermatitis) neglecta was first coined by Poskitt et al. to denote a condition in which formation of a localized hyperpigmented lesion occurs as a consequence of lack of cleanliness. Although it is not a universally accepted entity, several case reports of this condition have since been published. Early and prompt clinical recognition of this condition eliminates the need for aggressive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. We describe the coexistence of dermatosis neglecta, facial seborrheic dermatitis, and corticosteroid-dependent dermatitis in a patient.
