FOR those who have been in healthcare for any period of time, "buzzwords" about the latest new terminology bring to life an old idea. Every few years, experts and consultants bring to long-term care (LTC) providers the latest example of a new design to solve the quality of life and quality of care problems that have plagued the industry for years. Terms that are currently discussed in LTC journals, at meetings and conferences, and in regulators' offices, are person-centered care and culture change.
