摘要

In the last three decades, research on "embodied cognition" has provided compelling evidence of the fundamental role played by the sensory-motor system in higher cognition. This article systematically connects research on embodied cognition with dual-process theories of judgment and decision-making, advancing the idea that the sensory-motor system can be understood as a background system influencing both impulsive and deliberative decisions. After reviewing the behavioral evidence in embodied cognition relevant to dual-process theories, particular emphasis is devoted to the neural mechanisms that may explain this evidence. Hypotheses in embodied cognitive neuroscience such as the somatic marker hypothesis, neural reuse, and the entanglement between decisions and actions are discussed in relation to dual-process theories.
