Inferred Ethical Concern in Eighteenth Century Library Practice and Lessons for the Twenty-first Century

Information ethics has been of concern to librarians and researchers for centuries. This paper explores the writings of Johann David Kohler, a German academic writing in the early and mid-eighteenth century. Kohler, an historian, was also briefly a librarian and a lifelong bibliophile.
