In this work the authors give a simple and precise method to measure the friction forces and coefficients of friction on the basis of recording the amplitudes of damped vibration of a physical pendulum. The measurement of the amplitude is not needed here. This method allows one to establish the dependence of friction force on velocity. Dynamics of pendulum with a rolling-contact bearing is explored. The results of rolling friction force measurement are given. An error of the method is estimated.
