Sao Tome & Principe has got a rare boost after a subsidiary of China's Sinopec signed a production sharing agreement. Interest in the archipelago's upstream has been sparse following the unsuccessful five-well drilling campaign in 2009 by Sinopec itself and subsidiary Addax in the joint development zone with Nigeria, which only found around 1 Tcf of gas.
