BG has finalised the location of its first deepwater well in a two wildcat programme off Kenya which will start early next year. The company is bringing the Deepsea Metro drillship up from Tanzania for two wells in Blocks L10A and L10B. It has now finalised the location for the first well as the Sunbird reef prospect in the west of the acreage, overlapping both blocks. It is in the Tembo trough where no deepwater wells have previously been drilled.
