BG looks set to return to drilling offshore Tanzania later this year after handing out related contracts. The UK company, which has been taken over by Shell, has more than 17 Tcf of recoverable gas in Blocks 1 and 4 but took a break from drilling in late 2014. It now appears to be returning quicker than expected under its new ownership and has given Farstad Shipping a contract for three platform supply vessels to support drilling operations off Tanzania starting this October. The duration of the contracts is one well firm with additional four well options.
