Ophir to Test Tanzania Deep as BG Exits Block

UK - listed Ophir Energy is taking over as operator of a key deepwater gas block in Tanzania following moves by UK gas giant BG to pull out of the acreage. BG will remain the operator of two other gas - rich Tanzania licenses on behalf of the joint venture with Ophir but has "elected not to continue to participate" in Block 3, says a source familiar with the situation.
