Pamela F. Ashcraft is an Associate Professor in the School of Nursing at the University of Central Arkansas, where she also serves as the Research and Scholarship Coordinator for the SON. She received her BSN from the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences in 1987, her MSN from the University of Central Arkansas in 2001, and her PhD from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2011. Dr. Ashcraft teaches in the undergraduate, MSN and DNP programs. Dr. Ashcraft's interest and specialty areas include community health, population health, epidemiology and pediatrics. Dr. Ashcraft's PhD research was in the area of adolescent obesity, focusing on inner-city African-American adolescent males. Her current research interest involves self-care behaviors of undergraduate nursing students and practicing RNs. Dr. Ashcraft currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Southern Nursing Research Society and serves as a journal reviewer for numerous nursing journals.
