Sunbird shines on South African Ibhubesi

Sunbird Energy said that a new independent review of the Ibhubesi field off South Africa shows that there are adequate reserves to go ahead with a first stage of development without further drilling, while a feasibility study will be completed next month. The RPS Energy report says that P90 reserves stand at 201 Bcfe and P50 reserves at 869 Bcfe, a similar result to the 2009 estimates from DeGolyer & MacNaughton. The project feasibility study is due to be completed next month and will look at revised development options for the 201 Bcfe figure as well as updated project economics and an engineering feasibility study to determine designs.
