As Christian nurses, we can remember to glorify God in how we care for others. We can ask for his strength, his grace for those shifts where there is more work than time, and his wisdom to manage our time. We can ask him to help us spend regular, quality time with him and hear his voice so we can run and not be weary, walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:27-31), to lead us in rhythms of rest and work and help us avoid burnout. God gives us the honor of being allowed into our patient's lives and into their families' lives at their most vulnerable, helpless moments. It is his gift, and with that comes much responsibility, even when we are working against the clock.
