AP closes on Cote d'lvoire, Gambia, Senegal deals

African Petroleum is hoping to have completed farm down deals by the end of next quarter for all or some of its blocks off Cote d'lvoire, the Gambia and Senegal. The company has been trying to close negotiations for some time but said that the recent discoveries for Kosmos and Cairn in Senegal and Mauritania has attracted new potential investors. Off Senegal it holds 90% in blocks Rufisque Offshore Pro-fond and Senegal Offshore Sud Profond and has a commitment to drill one well, theoretically by last month. The first of these blocks is in the deeper waters neighbouring Cairn's acreage. Off Gambia it holds Blocks Al and A4 which are directly south of Cairn's discoveries and on which it has a commitment to drill one well by September next year.
