With no signs of cooling in China's appetite for expensive status-rich cars, global demand for the cars built by top-of-the-tree prestige car makers BMW, Audi, Mercedes and Porsche is still sizzling, thus keeping many of their already stretched plants operating at or near installed capacity limits. Global sales of prestige sector cars this April, kept on the boil chiefly by hot ongoing demand in China, topped last year's same month sales levels by some 10.5 per cent according to AID compiled figures.
