So tell me what motivates you? Surviving medical practice in this day and time requires a skill set that was unknown to the generations of physicians that came before us. Many of us have taken an employment path, others have limited the content of their practice, others have embraced shift work. All of these schemes are meant to provide safety in patient care and medical lifestyle protections. Some are productive, others are convenient and then others are morphed with what the market will bear. But all of them get down to that critical question...what motivates you as a physician? Power, money, prestige or sleep...take your pick but you cannot have the entire list.
