IADC Drilling HSE Europe issues call for abstracts

THE IADC DRILLING HSE Europe 2005 conference is scheduled for 19-20 May 2005 in Esbjerg, Denmark, capital of Western Denmark and center of the country's thriving offshore E&P industry. The conference will examine best practices in health, safety and the environment in the global drilling industry. Keynotes will be made by Maersk Oil & Gas among others. A call for abstracts was recently issued and more information can be found on LADC's website at wwwdadc.org. The planning committee, made up of Danish and International companies, promises an informative conference. The confer-nence will cover important topics such as building an HSE culture; safety leadership training; cargo handling and logistics; cooperative government/industry HSE ventures, lifting and mechanical handling; waste minimization and disposal; cuttings injection; dropped objects, safety orientation training; rig mechanization; occupational health; and HSE performance measurement. Other potential topics are off site remote control of operations, the aging workforce and attracting young people to the industry, and individual HSE responsibility.
