All of the growth in global jet fuel demand in September came from industrialized countries, with devel- oping countries showing shrinking markets for aviation fuel. As a result, consumption in a group of representa- tive countries held steady versus year- earlier rates at 3.7 million b/d. Trends in the third quarter, which includes the busy summer travel period, were stron- ger, showing an average gain of 0.8% for the period. Canada was the only OECD country to see vibrant growth with a 34% jump to 226,000 b/d as air- lines added long-haul flights across the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
