CEATEC Japan 2018 - Presents the Future Society Realized with Society 5.0

For four days from October 16 to 19, the Cyber Physical System (CPS)/Internet of Things (IoT) exhibition, Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies (CEATEC) Japan 2018 was, held at Makuhari Messe. In the wake of the previous exhibition, that in 2018 was positioned as the 'exhibition of Society 5.0 that dispatches Japan's growth strategy and future towards the world. Crossing over the borders lying between the different industries, and pressing forward with political, industrial and technological tie-ups, the exhibition introduced the 'future society realized with the Society 5.0 by fully utilizing the IoT, robots and artificial intelligence (AI). Under the theme 'Interconnecting Society, Co-creating Future' that was the theme for three consecutive years, this year's exhibition attracted companies/groups from various types of businesses/industries such as finance, tourism, housing, and machine tools, in addition to IT/electronics. The current exhibition attracted 725 companies, far more than the previous year, and the number of visitors was also increased, thus showing that AI/IoT is receiving a great deal of attention.
