A novel BODIPY-incorporated metal-organic framework was designed and synthesized by the solvent-assisted ligand incorporation (SALI) approach using PCN-222 and carboxyl-functionalized I-2-BODIPY moieties. The BODIPY-incorporated MOF was found to have cooperative light-harvesting properties and shown to be a highly efficient O-1(2) generator, which led to high photodynamic therapy activity.
