Pet ownership and expenditures in the U.S. have been exploding and show no signs of slowing down. According to results from the American Pet Products Association's 2019-2020 National Pet Owners Survey, 67% of American homes (84.9 million) include at least one pet, and millennials represent the largest pet-owning generation. The authors of a recent study explored two types of communication between veterinary hospitals and pet owners—medical updates and appointment confirmations—to determine how practices can best meet clients' needs.
