Rover, and latterly MG-Rover, had no shortage of haters, and some of the most vitriolic were those who had never even sat in one of the company's products, never mind owned or driven one. Which is rather a shame, because many of its cars were attractive, comfortable, reliable and excellent value. But they rarely featured much in the way of cutting-edge technology, and by the time MG-Rover went under in 2005, it was struggling to compete with increasingly more modern products from rivals with deeper pockets.
