DRIVERS RISK ￡1,000 FINE IF DPF FILTERS ARE REMOVED

A growing number of British motorists are breaking the law by driving diesel cars with the diesel particulate filter (DPF) filter removed. Figures from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency show that 1,800 cars have been discovered in the past three years, but this is thought to be just the tip of the iceberg. As a result, the DVSA is planning to change the MOT test to identify diesel models with the particulate filter removed.
