Steam turbines are widely used in many industrial and manufacturing plants; they are efficient, reliable and high performance machineries which need more attention for selection, operation and maintenance than what usually exercise. If selected, operated and maintained properly, they can achieve really long durations of trouble-free operation, even 3-6 years of continuous operation without shutdowns.
