Lower market returns, particularly for commodity bulk cream and butter, are starting to open up further price cracks and it is fresh liquid milk processors, rather than cheesemakers, who are feeling the pressure.After at least a quarter of paying a premium above most of its competitor farmgate milk prices in the non-aligned liquid milk sector, Freshways has succumbed to the pressure by reducing its standard milk price to 25ppl from Sept'19.
