Multiple quantum filtered sodium MRI of multiple sclerosis at 7T

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune condition of the central nervous system (CNS). Demyelination and axonal dysfunction, characteristic of MS, disrupt nerve transmission and sodium flux. Non-invasive assessment of sodium distribution in intra- and extracellular spaces may provide insight into the disease. We compare an RRMS and a healthy subject (HS) using enhanced SISTINA (1).
