Don't run out of steam

Natural gas production in North America has increased significantly in the past decade, while the natural gas price has fallen off significantly. At the same time, natural gas demand in Asia is booming, due to the fuel shift from coal to natural gas to address environmental concerns. To fill the market gap, projects have been under construction or completed in North America to export LNG. The LNG process is a cryogenic process, which consumes energy to compress and liquefy the natural gas. Considering energy consumption and operational costs, power is typically co-generated with steam, using heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) and conventional boilers.
