摘要

This spring, many top-fruit growers in the UK and across Europe were dismayed to discover that swathes of their orchards had been hit by frost. Some growers feared that as much as 70 or 80 per cent of their crop had been lost to the frost, which was followed by a very hot period in June and July. After such a precarious growing period, it is unsurprising that there has been a feeling of relief among growers as they finally begin to harvest their crops.
