Councils and recyclers dragging feet on plant pots

Six months on from HW survey, are councils following horticulture industry's lead?Local authorities and their recycling partners appear to be dragging their feet over plant pot recycling despite huge efforts by the horticulture industry to introduce kerbside recyclable pots. In October 2018, Horticulture Week found 87 per cent of councils were not recycling plastic plant pots collected from the kerbside. The horticulture industry has since launched recyclable taupe pots to replace hard-to-recycle black pots, but a follow-up survey by HWconducted in March shows none of the councils that were not recycling in October has changed its policy — and one has reversed it.
