Guest editorial: The figley fellowship

I had not heard of the Figley Fellowship as a resident or fellow. However, I have been very fortunate to get my first job in a department filled with many former Figley Fellows, including Felix Chew, Eric Stern, Michael Richardson, and Manjiri Dighe. Thus, over the past few years, I heard about the fellowship several times, and my interest grew as I continued to learn more about it. Everyone had only fond memories of their experiences and travels as the Figley Fellow. Most have since gone on to take editorial duties at the AJR or other major radiology journals. Two years ago, I also had the opportunity to meet Raul Uppot when he visited Seattle to spend time with Felix Chew for his Figley Fellowship. This was when I decided to apply for this fellowship that would give me the time and support to concentrate on learning about editorial activities from the experts atthe AJR.
