The advantages of auger boring

Michael Lubberger (Herrenknecht AG, Germany), discuss guided auger boring for pipeline crossings, with the example of the South Caucasus pipeline in Azerbaijan. In pipeline construction, occurring surface and sub-surface obstacles have to be crossed. Waterways, roads or environmentally sensitive areas require specialised construction techniques with minimum environmental Impact. In the planning stage of a pipeline crossing project, all surrounding conditions have to be analysed to find the safest and most cost-efficient method to be deployed.
