The UK standard semi market is set to tighten as Diamond Offshore has confirmed Ocean Guardian is no longer marketed. The seasonal nature of the sector means the rig will not be put through its five-year survey, which is due in February 2020. With WilPhoenix, MSS1, Ocean Patriot, Stena Spey, and Transocean 712 all looking likely to be committed through 2019 there is now limited available capacity over the second and third quarters for operators.
