Availability is scarce in the depleted UK standard semi fleet and rates are increasing from the USD 100,000-130,000 per day range seen over the past few years to a current bracket of USD 140,000-150,000. Operators are already making efforts to firm up their programmes for 2020 before availability reduces further. WilHunter, Sedco 711, and Sedco 714 remain cold stacked, and Ocean Guardian will now only participate in the P&A market following acquisition by Well-Safe Solutions. Blackford Dolphin looks like the only unit with availability in 2019. Following recent awards, there are few unfilled programmes still scheduled to commence in 2019. However, the market remains seasonal with most unfilled work due to start from March 2020.
