Asian Spot Prices Jump on Tighter Supply, Higher European Hubs

Northeast Asian spot LNG prices jumped 90￠ to $3.60 per million Btu, according to World Gas Intelligence assessments for deliveries four to eight weeks ahead. Spot prices in Southwest Europe were assessed 20￠ higher at $2.60/MMBtu. The UK National Balancing Point (NBP) day-ahead price was assessed 51￠ higher at $2.50/MMBtu, while the ICE NBP front-month contract rose 35￠ to $2.73/MMBtu. Netbacks for Mideast sellers in Asia were over $1.05/MMBtu higher than in Southwest Europe, while UK/Belgian netbacks were about $1.20 lower than in Asia.
