Northeast Asian spot LNG prices jumped 50c to $2.45 per million Btu,the largest weekly gain in nearly seven months,on spiking demand for cargoes for opportunistic purchases and short-covering,according to World Gas Intelligence assessments for deliveries four to eight weeks ahead.Spot prices in Southwest Europe were assessed unchanged at $1.65/MMBtu.The UK National Balancing Point(NBP)day-ahead price was assessed 5C lower at $1.66/MMBtu,while the ICE NBP June front-month contract dropped 8¢ to $l.64/MMBtu.Netbacks for Mideast sellers in Asia were almost 90C/MMBtu higher than in Southwest Europe,while UK/Belgian net-backs were nearly 95c lower than in Asia.
