Earthing System Analysis of Transmission Towers

Earthing system for high voltage transmission lines are important for the security of the power system and safety of personal in and around the structures associated with the transmission lines. Transmission line consists of enormous towers, the essential requirements for good Tower grounding connections are that they shall have low resistance, have adequate current carrying capacity, mechanically strong, free from thermo-mechanical stresses, corrosion free and should not damage to the other metallic constructions through electrolysis. The earthing provided in Tower is as shown below figure.
