Truck sales slide 9% to September in Brazil but strong evidence of market picking up

Brazil - According to statistics released by ANFAVEA (National Association of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers in Brazil) of Sao Paulo, State of Sao Paulo the truck market (3.5 tons and above) in Brazil fell by 9% in the first nine months of the year to 35,364 units compared with 38,865 units in the same period of 2016. However, this figure disguises a recent sales surge in the last month and a more positive outlook generally for truck sales in the next 18 months - see market opinion by ANFAVEA and FENABRAVE in this issue.
